Our colleagues held an online workshop on 9 September 2024, where they gave a presentation to national experts on the Rights Clearance Documentation Tool (RCDT) and the related Out-Of-Commerce Data Packing Software (OOPS!) developed within the EODOPEN project.
The RCDT is a tool designed and developed to document and provide technical support, to the extent possible, for the steps of the rights clearance workflow which is required to make digitized contents available to the public. It enables persons with appropriate access rights to check the copyright status of works that have already been copyright-cleared.
The main tasks of OOPS! are:
– to retrieve data from library catalogues;
– file conversion to facilitate the uploading of data to the database of out-of-commerce works maintained by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (https://euipo.europa.eu/out-of-commerce/#/), and
– to identify out-of-commerce works using catalogue data.
